Since its founding more than a century ago, Temple B'nai Sholom has been dedicated to the spirit and aims of Conservative Judaism. As we strive to maintain our Jewish identity in an ever-changing world, we are aware of the need for change and development within the all-important framework of Jewish tradition. Women as well as men participate in all aspects of religious life at our synagogue.
Throughout the years, our Temple has fostered in each of its members a special camaraderie and feeling of great pride in our Jewish heritage. The love and respect for our Temple is evidenced by the many families who have been members of our synagogue for more than three generations.
Temple B'nai Sholom is the heart of a vital, active Jewish community. Our many committees, groups and functions offer members a variety of opportunities to develop the friendship and warmth that make Temple involvement such a meaningful and rewarding experience.
We at Temple B'nai Sholom believe the synagogue is the unique treasure of the Jewish people. It is a house of prayer and a house of study, a house of joy and a house of solace. It is a sanctuary for all seasons and a source of strength for many puposes.
Temple B'nai Sholom is readily identifiable by its structure - its magnificent sanctuary, elegant ballrooms and impressive catering facilities. But the strength of our congregation does not lie in its physical plant, no matter how beautiful and modern. Nor is it measured by the number of members affiliated with it. The true strength of our synagogue lies in its ability to fire the hearts and imaginations of members so that they might become active participants in the Jewish way of life
Our synagogue is a community of people with divers interests, united only in their consciousness that as Jews they share a common and glorious heritage. Our members are both young and old, sedate and energetic, sophisticated and enthusiastic. They are both traditional and restless - respectful of the past, yet keenly aware of the future. While we observe ancient rituals, we are constantly searching for newer ways to make the religious experience more fulfilling. We welcome you to join the B'nai Sholom family and to participate with us in the spiritual, intellectual and cultural activities of synagogue.
